Musical Ointment: Apply to Ears When Necessary
“The Ting Tings – Silence (Bag Raiders Remix)”
Australian electro duo Bag Raiders have remained prolific since the success of their first hit ‘Fun Punch’; their latest remix is another example of why these guys should have a bit more recognition then they currently have. Katie White’s effortless vocals compliment the remix’s lazy tempo perfectly, with crisp synths on top of a hypnotic bass.

“Kitsuné America”
The highly esteemed Kitsuné label have been snapping up the hottest electro and indie prospects from all over Europe these past few years, and have now ventured into the American pool of talent. ‘Kitsuné America’ is the latest of a long list of successful compilations showcasing their artists, making sure they remain an established label and keep at the forefront of today’s electro/indie scene. It was difficult to choose a favourite from the latest comp, but in the end I went for Gigamesh’s Your Body purely due to his consistency over the past year in producing sublime disco-infused beats. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out all of Kitsune’s releases.

“Paper Crows – Happier ft. Major Look (Rudimental Remix)”
Admittedly, I don’t know too much about Paper Crows, having just stumbled upon their debut EP “Build” but I’m glad I did as there is some charming, soulful music going on here. However, I’m a sucker for decent remixes and Rudimental’s rework of ‘Happier’ is probably the highlight with its downbeat funk vibe; sit back and relax with this one.
